Chelsea v Bayern Munich: Blues set for Battle Against German Giants

The early Round of 16 matches in this season’s Champions League produced poor returns for English clubs with both Spurs and Liverpool suffering 1-0 defeats. This week, it’s the turn of Chelsea and Manchester City to step in and try to fly the flag for the Premier League.

First up we have Chelsea who host Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich in what will be another tough 90 minutes for an English side. Can Frank Lampard’s Blues upset the odds and take an advantage into the second leg or will Tuesday night’s game go with the form book?

Bayern Munich are firm favourites to win on the night with odds on prices right across the board. If we’re going to be looking at some goals-related markets, we should firstly take a quick look at the form guide. Bayern have a healthy return of 14 goals from their last five matches but they did draw a blank in a 0-0 draw against title rivals RB Leipzig.

Over the same five-game period, Chelsea have scored just eight times and like their opponents, they have been shut out in just one match.
