Tony Bellew Enhanced Odds

Tony Bellew

He’s moved between three divisions in his career but Tony Bellew has enjoyed success in all of his Light Heavyweight, Heavyweight and Cruiserweight bouts. Known primarily as a cruiserweight, the fighter from Liverpool is one of Britain’s most popular boxers right now and he always attracts attention when he steps into the ring.

That attention comes from the bookmakers too and they’re always quick to post offers, price boosts and Tony Bellew odds enhancements. Let’s take a look back at his career and we’ll offer a guide as to what we can expect from the sportsbooks.

Amateur Career

Any boxer’s amateur career won’t be tracked too heavily by the bookmakers so we didn’t see much in the way of Bellew fight odds as he was making his way through the sport. He was certainly impressive during this time, however, and he finished as a three time ABA Champion.

Bellew was barely challenged during the early stages of his rise through the amateur ranks and he defeated the majority of his opponents by knockout. In 2006 he lost to Danny Price but by then, he had more than enough quality to make the jump into the professional ring.

Professional Career

Tony Bellew made his professional debut in October 2007 and enjoyed a relatively easy night against Jamie Ambler, winning the contest in the second round. The bookmakers didn’t quite know what to make of him at this stage but as he progressed with little concerns, the regular Bellew fight odds started to list him as a clear favourite.

Further victories followed against Paul Bonson, Phil Goodwin, Hastings Rasani and others as he took his career tally to eight wins and no defeats but as you will have seen from that list, Tony Bellew had yet to fight a household name.

That was to change as promoters realised his potential and in 2010, he won the Commonwealth belt in the light heavyweight division after defeating defending champion Atoli Moore. Eventually, a chance at a world title came along but against Nathan Cleverly, the Bellew odds markets put him down as the outside bet and so it was to prove with Cleverly winning the fight.

Tony Bellew was a more-than competent boxer with a good record at this point but positive changes started to happen when he switched to the Cruiserweight division. In 2014 against Valery Brudov in Liverpool, Bellew won to claim the WBO International Cruiserweight title.

Shortly after, he was to get his long-awaited rematch against Nathan Cleverly and this time, the Cleverly – Bellew fight odds were much closer. The result was tight too but Bellew eventually won on a split decision.

Finally, after a long wait, his first world title came in 2016 when he defeated Ilunga Makabu for the vacant WBC cruiserweight title. More success followed but his most notorious battles came when he stepped up to heavyweight to take on David Haye. As the more experienced man in this division, his opponent was favourite in the Haye vs Bellew odds markets but Bellew would win the two fights between them.

Moving forward, he’s back at Cruiserweight level and although he will be 36 at the end of 2018, there are plenty more fights left in Tony Bellew.

Tony Bellew Odds Promotions

Now we know a little more about the boxer, what can punters expect if they’re looking for a little more value with their Tony Bellew bet?

Enhanced odds and price boost promotions generally take two forms and they are split between new customer deals and those that can be accessed by all account holders. The new customer offers will generally work in the same way by taking the standard Bellew odds and boosting them to something that would be far more tempting.

Against his weaker opponents, Tony Bellew might be an odds on options to win so a bookmaker such as Ladbrokes or Coral might take that figure and lift it to 20/1 or even higher. Alternatively, 888Sport might offer a price boost on both Bellew and his opponent meaning that you will need to pick between the two.

Other operators to get involved with new Bellew betting odds boosts might include SportPesa, SportNation and Betway. Points to note with this type of offer are that you will usually find that the stake is restricted to £1.00 and the enhanced part of your returns comes back as free bet tokens.

Those are important terms to keep in mind but these promotions can still prove to be very lucrative ones.

The second type of Tony Bellew bet boost will be made available to all customers of any sportsbook. The likes of William Hill, Winner Sports, RedZoneSports and others are very active with price lifts that follow similar patterns.

These boosts will take a price on Tony Bellew on any of his fights and make a smaller increase at around one or maybe two points at most. That may not seem very generous but it should be remembered that there are fewer restrictions with this type of offer.

Here, you are far less likely to have a maximum stake imposed on your bet and any returns should be coming back to you as cash with no free bet tokens to worry about. So, while the increases are smaller, the terms here are far more flexible.

The existing customer deals should also cover more markets so they may appear for Bellew fight odds in the straight result betting, method of victory, fight to go the distance and more.

All Tony Bellew odds boosts will offer some value whether they are for new or existing customers so they are well worth looking out for. We’ve given you a general guide to these promos but as each new deal comes in, we will filter and bring you the best of them as they land.

Having recently taken up commentary duties and an acting role outside of the ring, it may be that this respected British fighter is thinking about a future career away from fighting but he still has a number of years left at the top so please keep checking back and we will bring you the best Tony Bellew odds boosts as they come in from around the sportsbooks.
