Since the summer of 2017, SportPesa have slowly started to focus on the UK betting market after securing some high profile sponsor deals, most notably with established Premier League side Everton. The operator seemed to experiment with occasional enhanced odds offers around that time but as the 2017/18 football season came to a close, these started to appear on a more regular basis.

With weekly deals currently offered by SportPesa, here’s a guide to what you can expect.

SportPesa Enhanced Offers

SportPesa split their enhanced odds promotions into two different categories so there are deals available that are specifically for new account holders alongside others where all customers can get involved.

Unlike other bookies, the deals are very varied and different staking amounts can be involved. Also, SportPesa will target unusual markets whereas most sportsbooks only offer a price boost on the straight result.

For example, at the very end of the 2017/18 football season, new customers could get enhanced odds of 10/1 on Southampton not to be relegated with a fixed stake of £1.00. That was followed by an offer for the Europa League final which quoted a price boost of 4/1 on Antoine Griezmann to score anytime with a fixed stake of £5.00.

In contrast, the boosts for existing customers tend to come with a fixed stake of £15.00 with smaller increases involved. As with any bookmaker, we look to bring you the best SportPesa price boosts when they come in so, because there is such a variation in deals, we suggest you keep checking back for full details of current offers.

Participating Sports

We’ve used football examples above and this sport is a main focus for SportPesa but these offers have extended to cover horse racing, rugby, golf and more. Look out for big events such as the Cheltenham Festival as the bookie is more active with price boosts at this time while for football, the offers have started to come in on a weekly basis from the start of 2018.

Overall, this is one of the more extensive sets of sports from around the sportsbooks.

Significant Terms

We’ve mentioned that the staking limits can vary for new customer offers but these are generally fixed at either £1.00 or £5.00. Like the majority of these deals, you can expect payment to arrive in two parts with an initial profit paid in cash based on SportPesa’s market price for the event, followed by free bet tokens taking you to the quoted enhanced odds figure.

Usual free bet rules apply so the tokens are set to arrive within 48 hours and you then have 5 days in which to use them before they expire.

With existing customer deals, the stake tends to be fixed at £15.00 with all profits coming back in cash. In general, the terms are quite simple to follow but it’s always easy to check the ts and cs in full as they will be published alongside each SportPesa price boost as it comes through.

Banking

The banking requirements at SportPesa are fairly typical in terms of enhanced odds deals. Therefore, for new customers, you will only be allowed to add funds using a debit card and all eWallets are excluded so don’t attempt to use Skrill, Neteller or the others as you won’t be able to go ahead.

For existing customer deals, you can use your current balance or add some funds but we suggest using a card again just to be on the safe side.

SportPesa Overview

SportPesa have been established in their native Kenya for some years and are popular across Africa but they’ve been patient in terms of cracking the European market. Once you are on board as a new customer, there is a good choice of sports to bet on and now that the company is listed on the main odds comparison sites, we can see that they are strong in terms of pricing, particularly in some of the most popular football side markets.

There isn’t a lot in the way of ongoing promotions once you are on board but the value comes in those consistently good odds along with some price boosts for new customers which are getting more frequent.

Summary

The terms of SportPesa’s promotions can vary, especially those for new customers so we do suggest you check each one or read our previews when they come in. In general, the price boosts involved may be smaller than other bookies but the staking terms are fairer so there is definite value.

SportPesa also cover a range of sports so while football is a main focus, you can usually find options for horse racing and other events, particularly when the major tournaments come around. Overall, these are simple to follow offers with very fair terms and prices and they provide very good opportunities to get on board with SportPesa or to enjoy extra value as an existing customer.

Pros

  • Increasing range of weekly offers
  • Good choice of sports involved with football as a main focus
  • Simple terms and easy to follow instructions.

Cons

  • It’s hard to find any downsides although some new customers may prefer SportPesa to settle on a fixed stake rather than vary it.
