Horse Racing is another sport currently benefitting from the raft of enhanced offer deals provided by the bookmakers. We’ve all seen price lifts on football which tend to get more publicity but for those prepared to delve a little deeper, you can find plenty of these on the horses as well.
Certain bookmakers are more active during the week but for the big meetings, many more will get involved so here is a quick guide to finding the best deals on the web.
How Does it all Work?
Enhanced odds promotions are mainly tailored towards new customers to give them some extra value when they sign up for a new account. For the bigger races, a horse may start in the ante post markets at 2/1 but under an enhanced offer deal, that could rise to somewhere around the 10/1 mark and possibly much higher.
Terms and Conditions will vary depending on which bookmaker you use but expect to see a limit on the amount staked. This could be restricted to £10.00 or, for offers where the enhanced figure is much higher, it may drop to £1.00.
In the event of a winning bet, it’s common for a bookmaker to credit your account with the profit from the standard book price. The extra winnings at the higher odds will be credited as a free bet token and you will then need to check the terms to see if there is an expiry date.
We will aim to showcase the best horse racing offers from around the sportsbook and when doing so, we will highlight the most important terms laid out by the bookmaker in question.
Prices will vary from week to week but when we checked in December 2016, these deals were typical of the enhanced offers that you might find.
- Richard Johnson to ride at least one winner increased from 2/1 to 3/1
- Adam Kirby to ride at least one winner increased from 2/1 to 3/1
- Khezerebad to win by at least 10 lengths increased from 7/2 to 5/1
Those examples are all provided by William Hill and as you may have spotted, the boosts themselves are fairly modest. However, they are listed for events that would be considered as having a very strong chance of dropping in so, at the same time, your exposure isn’t as great as we’ve seen for some of the enhanced football deals.
William Hill update these on a daily basis so if this is something that may interest you, be sure to log on every 24 hours to check all the latest deals.
Clearly, the Grand National is the focal point for all bookmakers and it’s a time when the betting community and the wider general public get online to get involved. This, along with high profile meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival or Royal Ascot is a time when you can scour through the sportsbooks in order to find some more lucrative enhanced odds offers.
Certainly in the case of the National itself, those prices could start to come in very early indeed and for a race that doesn’t go off until April, they may well be made available at the start of the preceding January.
We will look to highlight the best of these offers and to give you as much notice as possible when they are announced. Whether it’s a big price increase for new customers or a more modest set of figures on a quiet Monday morning, there is still some value to be had so keep checking back for the best horse racing offers as they come in.
